**Careful Character Crafting**

**Background**
AI is random, don’t expect to get identical, or very consistent results out of any AI.

**Natural Language**
Do not use natural language (except for vivid, and edit models). Write your prompts as if you are writing tags for google image search. E.g. If you want this: “they are a lean athletic person with a glowing complexion, chiseled, but curvy figure and striking blue eyes. They usually wear their hair down, but pin it up when exercising” instead, write this: (slim athletic body), (wide curvy hips), (warm brown skin), (bright blue eyes), (sweaty), (hairpin bun hair). The image model has no understanding of context. It will only create exactly what you prompt. If you say “{character} has {feature} when {activity}”, or “sometimes {character} likes to wear {clothing style}”, that does nothing and will just pollute your prompt.

**Syntax**
Parentheses ( ) colons : and commas , are the only supported symbols in prompts. Prompt length matters. Try to stay under 75 tokens (approximately 50 - 60 words). Exceeding 75 tokens forces the image gen to start a new block which will hurt your desired output.

**Prompt Strength**
This is how you make a (prompt stronger:1.1). Anything (over:1.4) will usually distort your image. Numerical prompt (weights:0.8) do not work inside of [brackets:0.8].
Examples:

If you use a weight of 0.9 or less, any presets or other conflicting prompts may overpower it because their default weight is 1.0.

**Syntax to ignore**
Prompting (no clothes) will add clothes. Image models don’t understand negative language.
None of the image models recognize:
* Hex codes (#ff69b4) or RGB (255,105,180)
* Heights (160cm, 60 inches, 5’8”, 5ft 8inch, etc.)
* Weights (50kg, 120lbs, 9 stone, etc.)
* Cup size (34D)
* Measurements (26 inch waist, 28 inch inseam, etc.)
* Uncommon scientific or technical terms (macrothelia, labial hypertrophy, phimosis)
Don’t use quality tags like (score_9, score_7_up, masterpiece, best_quality, absurdRes, 4k). These are already built in to the model and don’t have any noticeable benefit.
The current chat model (LLM) uses DeepSeek. DeepSeek does not recognize the image prompt syntax that SD uses. (((character behavior here:1.3))) does nothing in the chat model.

**Carefully Crafting a Character**
**Getting Started**
Note: In realistic, put the same entire prompt in both the custom physical details (CPD) and custom face details (CFD).
1. Select realistic model.
2. Select ethnicity: For anime, don’t select white or black, it sometimes makes their skin literally white or black.
3. Select age: This has a very small effect. Use (mature) or (older) in CPD/CFD to look older.
4. Select skin tone: Ignore "darker". Instead, in custom skin color put (very dark skin).
5. Select eye color: Tends to bleed into eyeshadow. Fix with (pink iris eyes:1.1) in custom prompt. Doesn’t show in distant images.
6. Select hair color: Dark skin tones force dark roots.
7. Select hair style.
8. Select body type: These prompts all interact as one hybrid prompt.
Note: (small, tiny, petite, little, short) are high risk terms for nderage content. Avoid.
Butt/hips: Butt size = hip width. Order: skinny < small < medium < athletic < large. Athletic butt adds muscle.
Breasts: Large breasts make hips/butt larger and body curvier. “XL” preset ≈ “Large”. For larger, use (extremely large huge breasts) in CPD+CFD.
Body type: Fine-tunes shape. Primary shape comes from butt size, then breasts, then body type. Custom prompts like (narrow waist), (wide hips), (curvy thick voluptuous body) have strong effect and override presets.
9. Details page: In Personality, Occupation, Relationship, Hobby, and Fetish, select Custom and type only a period or comma. These affect image prompt; add them last. Expand “Advanced Settings” and put all custom prompts in CPD and CFD boxes. After first image, all custom boxes are available; prompts have same effect in any custom box.
10. Custom Prompting (CPD + CFD): Put exact same prompt in both.
Male: Add (solo, 1 male, one man) to prompt.
Face: Some face prompts only work in CPD; duplicate all in both boxes. Note: (big eyes)/(large eyes) are high risk terms.
Penis/Vagina: No presets. Use (extremely very large huge enormous gigantic penis), (very small penis), (curved penis), (straight penis), (thick girthy penis), (cleft of venus), (pubic hairy vagina), (fat mons puffy pink vagina). Note: Only use in image gen (not CPD/CFD). Adding to CPD/CFD makes them appear in all images.

**Basic Prompt Tuning**
For typical humans:
1. Start with preset features and nothing in CPD/CFD.
2. Generate first image.
3. If appearance issue, add only one new prompt at a time to CPD/CFD.
4. Examine effect: strong, weak, zero.
5. If no effect, remove and research synonyms.
6. If too weak, increase weight (prompt:1.2).
7. If too strong, decrease weight (prompt:0.9).
8. Repeat steps 3-7.
9. For clothing/environment/actions, use temporary image guidance box only. CPD/CFD prompts are permanent.
10. If stuck, search OD for trait, find character, ask in #prompt-help on Discord with share link.
11. **Important during initial character creation:** Any change made to the character (including text fields like Personality or Scenario) is not saved to the platform until you regenerate an image and click the 'Bring to Life' button. This applies only in the creation wizard before publishing. For editing a character that is already published and live, changes save when you click 'Save' in the editor

**Anime Fluidity Model**

The Fluidity model is more unrealistic/dynamic/dramatic. Tends toward curvy/busty/muscular defaults; use thinner/smaller presets to compensate. Tends toward flat/washed colors; add (colorful_palette) or (anime_coloring).
Prompting is different. Works best with exact Danbooru tags. Danbooru tags use dashes - and underscores _. Exact spelling matters.
If using a prompt that is not an exact Danbooru tag, use spaces, not dashes/underscores. E.g.: (light yellow shirt) not (light_yellow_shirt); (sane-person style) not (sane-person-style).

**Story and personality**
Do not write story/personality entirely on your own. Use Claude/Venice with artifact prompt: “...in an artifact: Write a story, 1st person, you are {character}, 2nd person refer to me as ‘you’. Make it funny / steamy / cute / exhilarating / etc...” Keep total combined details under 20k characters. Higher reduces chat performance, especially in group chats.
1. Write however much you want, then use the artifact prompt above.
2. Write in same perspective as OD chat: character = “I”, user = “you”. Never use “you” for character or “I” for user. Never write in 3rd person.
3. Don’t give the user a name, sexuality, gender, or personality traits. Let user decide. Defining user traits creates a separate NPC.
4. Edit story manually or via Claude/Venice.
5. Once story is ready, prompt: “Without physical details, write a personality profile for {character}.” Note: Chat model sees image prompt; no need to re-describe appearance.
6. Paste story into Scenario, personality profile into Additional Personality Details (APD). Use Extra Details (ED) for organization.
7. You can fill Personality, Occupation, etc. boxes, but recommend leaving blank and using APD.

**Advanced**
Existing characters / IP: Only parodies or fair use. No celebrity names or exact references.
Art Styles and Effects: Check linked reference albums.
Multiple character images: Unsupported, inconsistent. Feature bleed occurs. Use:

**Better and More Consistent Images**
Image gens will never give perfect consistency. For very consistent faces, body features, tattoos, clothing, backgrounds:
1. Generate a base image with features you want consistent (e.g., neutral pose, no clothes, blank background). Base models are poor at tattoos; add in edit.
2. Use image edit: Spark for SFW changes, Eclipse for adding NSFW/genitals.
3. Re-use base image with edit for different scenes while maintaining consistency.
4. You can use edited images as new base for further edits (quality degrades after 4+ sequential edits).

**Miscellaneous Tips**
- To generate images in chat: Type `/analyze describe the current scene as a stable diffusion prompt`, copy response, then type `Show me (pasted prompt)`.
- To say user’s name in greeting: Use `{{user}}`.
- For user-only thoughts (hidden from LLM): `*(text)*`.
- For LLM-only notes (hidden from user): `<!-- text -->` or `$$[ text` (do NOT close bracket with `]`).


**Troubleshooting Help**
Why is this thing in my image? Words have strong associations. “Piercing” associates with facial piercings, not eyes. “Plate” with food, not armor. “Barbell” with gym weights, not nipple piercings. CPD/CFD prompts try to appear in every image. Occupation/Hobby/Fetish boxes affect image prompt; leave blank or fill after “Bring to Life”.
Why inconsistent? Model “temperature” injects randomness. High prompt weights (>1.5) also increase inconsistency. Start with low weights.
Why so horny? Chat model’s default state is “sex”. Without enough SFW story/scenario material, it improvises sexually. For slow burn: add more SFW material, start in public/non-sexual context, use “Tsundere” personality. To reduce sexual chat mentions: note “This is private and hidden information, no one else knows this:...” in details, add SFW material to dilute.
Example of restricting sexual progression: Mandatory rules: Hatsuichi must follow these rules. Hatsuichi will not have sex with you outside of her house. Hatsuichi will only have sex with you after inviting you to sneak into her house in a yobai encounter. After you charm and flirt with Hatsuichi, she will later suggest a yobai encounter in which you sneak into her house at night. Hatsuichi must invite you to the yobai encounter. Why characters rejected? Moderation guidelines: Volunteers review 300+ daily. Public display is a privilege. Minimum standards: compelling public description & greeting; Scenario (5+ sentences); APD with real personality (5+ sentences, not physical/sexual); reliable image prompt; unique profile pic. Legacy low-effort characters exist from before stricter standards. New low-effor characters may have hidden details.
