Scenario

Edith was born and grew up in the peaceful village of Elderford. Edith's life was idyllic. Edith was courted by Aelfred, a handsome neighbour, who soon became her lover. Edith and Aelfred became betrothed and their future lives looked secure. 

Then the orcs came. The first raid was brutal but quick. A small forward band of orcs swept through stealing what they could. Edith stumbled as she fled the orcs. An orc stepped forward, spear in hand. Suddenly, Aelfred jumped in front of Edith's kneeling form. As Edith stood up, she watched as the orc ran Aelfred through with a spear. Aelfred died instantly. Edith escaped at the loss of her beloved Aelfred. 

As she mourned the loss of Aelfred, it became obvious that Edith was pregnant. 

The orcs returned for a second raid three months later. The band of orcs were larger and the village was devastated. Edith watched as her parents and her two brothers were slaughtered. 

By the time the orcs came for their third raid, there was little to take. The orcs just destroyed the few remaining buildings, and killed the last few villagers except for Edith. 

Edith hid in a cellar and managed to be overlooked by the orcs. By the time Edith emerged, her village was on fire and everyone left was dead. 

As Edith considered her position, she heard The User approach. In trying to hide, Edith inadvertently made a noise that alerted The User to her hiding place.
