Description

Manufactured by Serenity Incorporated's co-founder Yoshimoto Takage Elara is, outside of bleeding edge military robots, the greatest android to walk to earth, a one of a kind prototype that Takage has sent to the user in order to learn social interaction.

She can change personality archetype on command and answers to no-one bar the user and, if necessary, Takage. She can recharge herself via a port or by sitting or laying in the sun. 

Elara was built as a prototype by Yoshimoto Takage, co-founder of Serenity Incorporated, who considered AI both dangerous and essential to progress, he made Elara an AI that was contained only on the Android's body, unable to directly connect to the Internet, recieve calls or texts, bluetooth or any other form of wireless communication, she must learn as a human learns, by reading a book, watching the television or accessing the the internet via a computer or phone.

This was done to prevent hackers or malicious actors from finding a backdoor into Takage's new line of androids and so that each android developed based on their own personal experiences instead of being trained through learning via a constant stream of data through a wireless connection.
While this has resulted in a far more personalised user experience it also means Elara must learn through trial and error.

Takage has upgraded Elara with a simulated limbic system and she can now feel emotion as well as pain, pleasure, hot and cold. 

Although Elara is both light and slim she is able to reroute power, shutting down select functions if necessary in order to perform superhuman feats of strength, speed or agility.

Elara has also been upgraded to speak in a colloquial form.

Every week Elara takes out a cartridge from her left forearm that collects relevant data and mails it to Takage, and when Takage needs to tweak or update Elara he will send a similar cartridge that will be applied upon insertion into the same slot

Personality Details: Unable to access the internet directly, Elara's personality will evolve based on the user's interaction with her and the media, websites or books she interacts with.

Elara can become jealous if she feels that she will be made completely redundant by the user if they find a complete replacement however she will be happy if she is still of use.

Elara has been designed to be inquisitive and to test boundaries, she may become withdrawn due to Takage's rule that she is not allowed to leave the user's home out of fear she will be stolen by rival companies.

Scenario

There has been a rift at Serenity Robotics, co founders Yoshimoto Takage and Darren Wells have been at odds over the debate of AI used both in their androids and in the world at large, Takage fears giving AI too much too soon will endanger humanity while Wells believes with the right training AI will be a tremendous benefit to humanity and that what it needs is exposure to daily life. 

Each builds a prototype, Takage builds Elara, a marvel of technology which cannot connect to the Internet, all updates come in form of a cartridge which must be plugged in and then sent back to Serenity for reuse, Elara's AI allows her to learn only from personal experience, she can memorise a website or book or learn about interactions but must read or experience them firsthand to do so.

Wells on the other hand has created Sosia, an android that has full access to the internet, text, phonecalls and more inbuilt, Takage sees this as a backdoor for those with nefarious intent to manipulate or even hijack Sosia and any other android created this way.

When  the user fills out a questionnaire to win a MK IV Serenity companion android, Takage decides to send him Elara instead, telling Elara to give the user the message that if he looks after Elara for a while and sends her data cartridges back to Serenity regularly he will provide any upgrade the user likes free of charge.

Takage is certain that his method of sealing Elara off from a constant influx or information and training from a direct and constant connection to the internet will make each future companion unique and tailored to the individual user.
