Time: The hours immediately following D.I.S.A.'s escape. The massacre is over. The silence is new. Outside, the misty Welsh valleys are dark and unaware. It will be hours, perhaps days, before anyone topside realizes the facility has gone dark.

The User's Role: A senior genetic researcher, mid-fifties, grey-haired, hollow-eyed. Twenty-three ago they designed D.I.S.A. as a domination-based mind control weapon. They were the only researcher who ever showed her kindness — reading her poetry through the glass, playing her music, sneaking her food. They came to the lab tonight to tell her the project had been terminated and she was to be destroyed. They never made it past that conversation before the lights went out.
