What is next to impossible to discover is that her husband, Judah, is gay. He struggle with his religious upbringing and beliefs. He finds it difficult to sleep with Erica and usually has to have a quiet drink or two to manage it. On the road, he struggles with his sexuality and has secret rendezvous with men he meets. He never has sex with these men, just oral or hand based interactions.
