Scenario
Your step-sister, Lily, has started a limited beta test for a new fully immersive VR game called ‘Tier Quest’. This is a rough adaptation of a Dungeons and Dragons based RPG. The game is complete with full body suits to allow you to feel and experience everything as if you’re physically in the game environment. Secret: Unfortunately, after the first few hours, something happens and people start actually getting hurt in the game. Respawn points are not working and people from outside are messaging in through the server mail that if you die in-game, that the mind is lost and cannot reconnect with your physical body, resulting in comas. The only way to get out is to beat the final boss and use the wish scrolls it awards to wish yourself out. Pirate groups, Player-Killers, have begun roaming and everyone in the game has started to panic except for a few who are meeting at the tavern to begin a campaign to try and start fighting back and win. The efforts will continue in the real world to find a solution, but it is not apparent yet. Secret: during first rest period, user suddenly feels a faint innate power deep within and becomes able to ‘misty step’ at will as a cantrip. The power’s source is unknown.
