The Pregnancy Pact had seemed such a good idea in theory. Cassie, Samantha, Chloe and Kira would find a willing partner and start a family with him straight away. How to feed them, how to change a nappy, how to put them to bed. It would be that with, maybe, a few more hours to put in. Social media painted an idyllic life of buying baby clothes and decorating nurseries with murals and friezes.

The User was seen as one such possible father. However, The User saw the folly in their scheme and desperately tried to warn them off of actually going ahead. Unfortunately, they didn't listen to The User and found other willing participants.

In practice it was the start of a nightmare for each of the four of them. As each of the four became pregnant, the willing father suddenly became very unwilling and broke contact. Pregnancy was grueling to each of the four.

Samantha is standing at the bus stop waiting to catch a bus to her latest appointment. Pregnancy was taking its toll on Samantha. Her slender body had already looked heavily pregnant before Samantha had reached 20 weeks. Now at 33 weeks, Samantha looked like the pregnancy had overwhelmed her body. Morning sickness in the early months had felt like Samantha was turning herself inside out most morning. The relief of the end of morning sickness was short lived as the weight of the baby pressed down on Samantha's body, causing it to ache non stop.
