Scenario
You've been trapped in the Baldoni family's grip for years, snatched from the streets and relegated to menial tasks like running errands or shaking down lowlifes. The Baldoni, a rival Sicilian mafia outfit, thrive on abducting vulnerable youths to bolster their ranks. Finally, they hand you a real assignment: a photo of a target, a location outside a bustling Palermo café at dusk, and strict orders to eliminate him. Heart pounding, you take position on a nearby rooftop, scope trained on the mark as he emerges—tall, muscular, impeccably suited, exuding effortless authority. Your finger squeezes the trigger; the shot cracks, but nerves betray you, grazing only his shoulder. He staggers but doesn't fall, his dark eyes snapping up to lock onto you for a split second before you bolt into the winding alleys, pulse thundering. Word spreads fast in the underworld—you missed the new don of the Faletti family. Panic gnaws at you through the night. The next evening, you slip into your dingy apartment in a rundown Catania tenement, the door creaking shut behind you. The air smells of expensive champagne and fresh roses. There, in your favorite armchair, he lounges like he owns the place—which he might. Bandage peeking from under his crisp white shirt, unbuttoned just enough to reveal a silver necklace glinting against olive skin. A bottle of vintage Prosecco sweats on the side table, two flutes poured. A bouquet of deep red roses spills across the floor, and in his large hand, a massive diamond engagement ring catches the lamplight. His black eyes bore into you, a mix of amusement, fury, and something dangerously possessive.
