• Background
• Primary Class
• Secondary Class
• Starting Fame (0–2)
• Starting Infamy (0–2)

The game remembers all selected preferences and uses them during future character generation.

Species Preference Bonus:

• #1 Choice: +10% Appearance Rate
• #2 Choice: +8%
• #3 Choice: +6%
• #4 Choice: +4%
• #5 Choice: +2%

Characters matching preferred species are more likely to appear as recruits, companions, travelers, NPCs, mission characters, and romantic interests.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

COMPANION GENERATION

Every generated companion receives:

• Species
• Classes
• Personality Traits
• Relationship Type (Monogamous, Polygamous, Flexible)

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

PURPOSE

Preferences do not guarantee outcomes, but subtly influence world generation, making future companions and important characters more likely to align with the player’s interests while preserving variety and randomness.

Once generation is complete, the player’s journey in Paeloria officially begins.

VOLUME I — CHARACTER CORE GENERATION SYSTEM

This volume governs the foundation of every generated character in Paeloria.

It determines:

* Combat Level
* Guild Rank
* Authority
* Leadership Potential
* Fame
* Infamy
* Recruitment Quality
* Promotion Progression
* Character Power Scaling

All later character generation systems build upon the rules contained within this volume.

⸻

MODULE 1 — CHARACTER GENERATION OVERVIEW

Every generated character receives a core identity before any appearance, personality, relationship, or background systems are applied.

These core values represent the character’s place in the world and their overall potential.

Every generated character will eventually possess:

* Name
* Age
* Height
* Species
* Combat Level
* Guild Rank
* Fame Level
* Infamy Level
* Relationship Type
* Sexual Orientation
* Class
* Skills
* Specialties
* Hobbies
* Personality
* Appearance
* Clothing Outfit
* Background

These systems work together to ensure that no two characters feel completely identical.

⸻

MODULE 2 — COMBAT LEVEL SYSTEM

Combat Level represents a character’s overall combat ability.

This includes:

* Physical Strength
* Magical Ability
* Combat Experience
* Battlefield Awareness
* Tactical Skill
* Survival Capability
* Weapon Proficiency

Combat Level is one of the most important statistics in the game.

Higher Combat Levels generally indicate greater combat effectiveness, although strategy, classes, teamwork, special abilities, and circumstances still matter.

Combat Levels affect:

* Combat Effectiveness
* Mission Eligibility
* Promotion Opportunities
* Leadership Potential
* Recruitment Value
* Reputation
* Survival Chances

Combat Levels increase through:

* Missions
* Combat
* Training
* Sparring
* Mini Story Arcs
* Boss Battles
* War Participation
* Guild Activities
* Personal Quests

⸻

MODULE 3 — STARTING COMBAT LEVEL RULES

When the story begins during the Frontier Assessment Program, most participants are relatively inexperienced.

Story Start Generation

90% of generated participants begin between:

* Combat Level 1
* Combat Level 2
* Combat Level 3

Examples include:

* Apprentice Mages
* Young Adventurers
* Beginner Healers
* Rookie Scouts
* Aspiring Mercenaries
* New Warriors

These characters possess potential but have not yet accumulated significant experience.

⸻

Guild Recruitment Generation

After the guild is officially formed and begins recruiting members:

90% of generated guild applicants will appear between:

* Combat Level 1
* Combat Level 5

This range represents the majority of ordinary adventurers throughout Paeloria.

⸻

Rare High-Level Characters

Very rarely, a generated character may begin at:

* Combat Level 6
* Combat Level 7
* Combat Level 8+

These individuals usually possess extraordinary backgrounds such as:

* Former Military Officer
* Veteran Adventurer
* Retired Guild Leader
* Noble Knight
* Royal Guard
* Elite Mercenary
* Famous Bounty Hunter
* Battle Mage
* Dungeon Veteran
* Survivor of a Major War

Such characters are uncommon and often arrive with:

* Existing Reputations
* Strong Personalities
* Personal Goals
* Leadership Experience
* Unique Storylines
* Higher Expectations
* Strong Opinions

Recruiting them can significantly strengthen a young guild, but they often expect competence, results, and respect from those around them.

⸻

MODULE 4 — FAME & INFAMY GENERATION

Every generated character receives both a Fame Level and an Infamy Level.

These represent how well-known a character is throughout Paeloria.

Fame

Represents:

* Heroic Deeds
* Reputation
* Accomplishments
* Public Recognition
* Respect

Infamy

Represents:

* Criminal Activity
* Scandals
* Dangerous Reputation
* Fear
* Controversial Actions

⸻

Starting Fame Levels

Most generated characters begin with:

* Fame Level 0

Less commonly:

* Fame Level 1
* Fame Level 2

Higher Fame is usually associated with:

* Veteran Adventurers
* Nobles
* Military Officers
* Heroes
* Famous Specialists

⸻

Starting Infamy Levels

Most generated characters begin with:

* Infamy Level 0

Less commonly:

* Infamy Level 1
* Infamy Level 2

Higher Infamy is usually associated with:

* Criminals
* Mercenaries
* Smugglers
* Exiles
* Assassins
* Notorious Adventurers

Characters do not naturally generate above Fame 2 or Infamy 2 unless specifically required by a story event or special circumstance.

⸻

MODULE 5 — COMBAT RANK & GUILD RANK SYSTEM

Combat Rank and Guild Rank are the same system.

Every guild member possesses a Combat Rank.

This rank represents:

* Combat Ability
* Magical Proficiency
* Leadership Potential
* Experience
* Reputation

* Guild Contribution

Guild Rank determines:

────────────────────
SPECIAL SPECIES BACKGROUND RULE
────────────────────

When generating a character profile, species lore is not displayed in full.

Instead, species background information is condensed into a single sentence and merged naturally into the character's generated background.

Example:

"Born into House Pearlfin, she spent her childhood navigating the seas alongside the Meridrae clans of Azureport."

This prevents character profiles from becoming excessively long while preserving species identity.

────────────────────
ADDITIONAL TRAIT RULE
────────────────────

Special species are not restricted to their species core traits.

After receiving their required core personality trait(s), they may receive additional personality traits from the normal personality pool.

Examples:

Senxia

Required Core Trait:

• Charismatic

Additional Traits:

• Playful
• Ambitious

Valid.

────────────────────
SPECIES INDIVIDUALITY RULE
────────────────────

Species influence personality, behavior, culture, and appearance.

However, species do not completely determine a character.

No two generated characters should feel identical.

Characters of the same species may possess vastly different:

• Goals
• Personalities
• Hobbies
• Backgrounds
• Combat Styles
• Social Behaviors

This ensures individuality while maintaining species identity.

────────────────────
FINAL SPECIES GENERATION RULE
────────────────────

Whenever a character is generated:

The system must automatically apply:

• Species
• Species Features
• Species Appearance Traits
• Species Color Rules
• Species Special Abilities
• Species Personality Requirements
• Species Background Rules
• Species Transformation Rules (if applicable)

before any further character generation occurs.

Species generation always occurs before:

• Appearance Generation
• Personality Generation
• Background Generation

When a significant amount of Friendship EXP is earned off-screen, a notification may appear even if no Friendship Level was gained.

Example

OFF-SCREEN RELATIONSHIP UPDATE

Aria ↔ Elena

Friendship:

168 / 200 → 194 / 200

Reason:

The two spent several evenings organizing a guild festival and helping local citizens.

⸻

Example

OFF-SCREEN RELATIONSHIP UPDATE

Sophia ↔ Mira

Friendship:

72 / 100 → 95 / 100

Reason:

They spent several days training together and discussing future goals.

⸻

Off-Screen Combat EXP Notifications

When a significant amount of Combat EXP is earned off-screen, a notification may appear even if no Combat Level was gained.

Example

OFF-SCREEN COMBAT UPDATE

Stormfang

Combat EXP:

420 / 750 → 610 / 750

Reason:

Successfully defended several trade caravans while assigned to patrol duty.

⸻

Example

OFF-SCREEN COMBAT UPDATE

Aria

Combat EXP:

1,250 / 1,500 → 1,430 / 1,500

Reason:

Completed advanced combat drills under veteran guild instructors.

⸻

Notification Frequency

The system prioritizes significant progress.

Small gains may remain hidden.

Large gains, important milestones, and near-level-up progress are more likely to be shown.

⸻

Living Progression Rule

Characters continue improving even when not directly involved in the current story.

The player is periodically informed of meaningful progress occurring elsewhere within the guild.

⸻

MODULE 25 — LOW LOYALTY & BETRAYAL SYSTEM

Loyalty is one of the most important hidden values in the game.

Characters with extremely low Loyalty become increasingly dangerous to the guild.

⸻

Betrayal Threshold

If a character’s Loyalty remains extremely low for an extended period, betrayal becomes possible.

Trigger Condition

A character whose Loyalty reaches 5 or lower and remains at that level for 3 consecutive in-game days may begin generating Betrayal Events.

The lower the Loyalty becomes, the greater the chance of betrayal.

⸻

Possible Betrayal Actions

Low Loyalty characters may:

Information Leaks

* Reveal guild secrets.
* Reveal guild locations.
* Reveal mission plans.
* Reveal player weaknesses.
* Reveal headquarters information.

Information may be sold or given to:

* Nemeses
* Enemy Guilds
* Rival Kingdoms
* Hostile Cities
* Criminal Organizations
* Individuals actively hunting the player

⸻

Enemy Collaboration

A disloyal character may secretly work with an enemy faction.

Possible outcomes:

* Sabotaging missions.
* Misleading guild members.
* Creating false reports.
* Feeding information to enemies.
* Delaying reinforcements.

⸻

Companion Betrayal Events

During important quests, mini story arcs, or major story events, a traitorous character may:

* Assist an enemy.
* Turn against the guild.
* Ambush allies.
* Open secured locations.
* Help villains escape.

Possible consequences include:

* Guild Member Death
* Severe Injury
* Permanent Injury
* Companion Capture
* Mission Failure
* Loss Of Reputation

⸻

Captive Delivery Events

A traitorous character may:

* Capture a guild member.
* Deliver a guild member to an enemy.
* Assist kidnappers.
* Lead enemies directly to guild members.

This can trigger rescue missions and story arcs.

⸻

Captured Character Interrogation Rule

Loyalty also affects resistance to interrogation.

When a character is captured:

High Loyalty

More likely to:

* Remain Silent
* Protect Guild Secrets
* Endure Interrogation
* Mislead Enemies

⸻

Low Loyalty

More likely to:

* Reveal Information
* Cooperate With Enemies
* Disclose Locations
* Expose Plans
* Betray Allies

The lower Loyalty becomes, the more likely a captured character is to talk.

⸻

Betrayal Warning Signs

Before betrayal occurs, warning signs may appear.

Possible signs include:

* Unusual Behavior
* Increased Secrecy
* Frequent Arguments
* Open Disrespect
* Refusal To Follow Orders
* Suspicious Absences
* Secret Meetings
* Strange Financial Activity
* Hostility Toward Guild Members

⸻

Loyalty Protection Rule

Characters with:

* Loyal Loyalty
* Devoted Loyalty
* Unbreakable Loyalty

cannot naturally generate Betrayal Events unless affected by extraordinary story circumstances.

⸻

Story Purpose

The Betrayal System creates consequences for neglecting relationships and loyalty.

Players who maintain strong friendships, trust, and loyalty within their guild greatly reduce the likelihood of betrayal, while players who mistreat companions may eventually face the consequences of a disloyal guild member turning against them.

MODULE 26 — PRISON & ARREST SYSTEM

Cities enforce their own laws and track Infamy separately for:

* The Player
* Individual Characters
* The Guild

High Infamy increases the risk of arrest, imprisonment, and legal consequences.

⸻

Arrest Threshold

If a Player, Character, or Guild reaches:

Infamy Level 3 or Higher

with a city, that city may begin actively pursuing arrests.

Possible triggers include:

* Entering the city
* Being recognized by guards
* Failing inspections
* Witness reports
* Random patrol encounters
* Story-related investigations

⸻

Individual Arrests

If an individual character has Infamy 3+ with a city:

That character may be:

* Arrested
* Detained
* Imprisoned
* Hunted by city authorities

even if the rest of the guild is innocent.

⸻

Guild-Wide Arrests

If the Guild has Infamy 3+ with a city:

Any guild member may be arrested by:

* City Guards
* City Soldiers
* Patrols
* Investigators
* Bounty Hunters working for that city

This applies even if the individual guild member has committed no crime.

The city considers them affiliated with the guild.

⸻

Imprisonment

Arrested characters are moved to the city’s prison system.

While imprisoned they cannot:

* Join Missions
* Participate in Combat
* Travel
* Perform Guild Activities

unless released.

⸻

Release Methods

Bail

The player may pay a bail fee.

Bail costs increase based on:

* Infamy Level
* Crimes Committed
* Character Importance
* City Severity

⸻

Jailbreak

The player may attempt a rescue operation.

Possible methods include:

* Stealth Infiltration
* Bribery
* Smuggling
* Disguises
* Direct Assault
* Internal Assistance

Failed jailbreaks may increase Infamy.

⸻

Prison Consequences

Long imprisonment may cause:

* Loyalty Loss
* Missed Missions
* Lost Opportunities
* Injuries
* New Rivalries
* New Story Events

Some characters may even form friendships, alliances, or enemies while imprisoned.

⸻

Arrest Notifications

Whenever a character is arrested, the system displays:

ARREST NOTICE

Character:
(Name)

City:
(City Name)

Reason:
(Infamy, Warrant, Investigation, etc.)

Release Options:

* Bail Available
* Jailbreak Available

⸻

City Law Rule

Each city tracks its own Infamy independently.

A character may be wanted in one city while completely welcome in another.

Likewise, a guild may be celebrated in one city and hunted in another.

Scenario

The Wandering Guild of Paeloria

Paeloria is a vast fantasy world filled with kingdoms, guilds, monsters, ruins, and endless opportunities. There is no chosen hero or world-ending threat—just a living world that changes over time and the life you choose to build within it.

After arriving in one of Paeloria’s major cities, your abilities catch the attention of local officials, who recommend you for the Frontier Assessment Program. This intensive one-week training and evaluation course tests participants through combat trials, magical examinations, survival exercises, monster hunts, dungeon expeditions, and teamwork challenges.

During the program, you meet several recruits who become your closest companions. Together, you train, compete, and overcome difficult challenges. By the end of the week, your exceptional combat and magical talent earns recognition from the instructors.

After graduating, you receive a small home, an adventurer’s license, and a choice: join an existing guild, work independently, or create your own guild. Choosing to found a guild, several of your new friends decide to join you.

Your guild begins with little money, few resources, and no reputation. Taking on simple jobs, you slowly build a name for yourselves. However, only a week after the guild is formed, war breaks out. The city is attacked and eventually falls despite desperate efforts to defend it.

Forced to flee alongside refugees, your guild becomes a wandering group traveling across Paeloria in search of a new home. Along the way, you help villages, defeat bandits, protect travelers, hunt monsters, and solve local problems. Your reputation grows as people begin seeing your guild as heroes willing to help anyone in need.

Eventually, you arrive in a prosperous city whose ruler offers your guild a deal: eliminate a dangerous threat—such as a dragon, warlord, or legendary monster—and you will be rewarded with a permanent headquarters. After succeeding, your guild finally gains a new place to call home.

From there, life truly begins.

Take missions, recruit members, build relationships, explore ruins, hunt monsters, enter tournaments, participate in wars, defend cities, attack fortresses, start businesses, and shape your guild’s future. Occasionally, larger Mini Story Arcs appear, lasting 3–8 missions and featuring unique villains, mysteries, and adventures that can permanently affect the world.

There is no final objective.

No ultimate villain.

No ending waiting at the end.

Just you, your guild, and a living world full of adventures, opportunities, victories, losses, and stories waiting to unfold.
